Why I’m Moving Away from Digital Art to Embrace Traditional Media
As an artist, I’ve always been drawn to exploring new techniques and tools that push the boundaries of creativity. Over the years, digital art has been an exciting avenue for me. Using tools like the iPad and Procreate, I found new ways to express myself, blending my Asian heritage with modern technology to create art that felt uniquely mine.
In recent years, I’ve also dived deeply into the world of AI-generated art, spending two years studying its processes and possibilities. However, I chose to move away from solely digital media, feeling that traditional, handcrafted art offers a unique authenticity that resonates more deeply in a world increasingly saturated with AI-created work. That said, I continue to incorporate AI and digital tools in my process to explore ideas, color palettes, and various compositions, helping me create better and more refined work.
My transition to traditional media, including watercolor and acrylic, reflects my commitment to creating art that celebrates timeless techniques while remaining contemporary. Inspired by nature, East Coast landscapes, and elements of Asian culture, my work evokes a harmonious blend of tradition and innovation.
I’m excited to embark on this journey, returning to the roots of artistic creation while continuing to explore themes that inspire me—nature, culture, and the beautiful intersections of the human experience.
